Product Description

“WCDMA/HSPA Planning & Dimensioning”

Course Code

C40325

Description

WCDMA/HSPA operators worldwide quit often face the challenge of planning and dimensioning their networks based on capacity, coverage or service considerations. WCDMA/HSPA networks provide different services to different customer requirements, posing different capacity requirements on the air interface (link budgets, maximum cell capacity, codes and bandwidth), on the transport network (ATM or IP bandwidth) and on the core network (MSC servers & MGWs). An efficient initial planning prediction, correct after turn key implementation and design requirements are both the secrets for a successful network deployment and operability.

In this course the audience will review quickly the UMTS network (both WCDMA/HSPA and core part), will be introduced to the major capacity, coverage, cell planning and dimensioning principles. Moreover to that the audience will have the chance to overview the WCDMA performance statistics (counters description, KPI’s), the performance recording and performance event handling.

Case studies, exercises and real network projects will be presented
