Course Code



This course deals with the new emerging technologies of IOT (Internet of Things) and  provides the insights and perspectives of technology trends, deployments and convergence in internet of things (IOT). It starts with a short presentation of IOT structure, equipment, architecture, standardization and networking of the IOT and put special focus on technology and protocols used in the IOT implementation

The radio spectrum used for IOT allocations and the ISM bands are mentioned and during the course meshing techniques and new networks that have emerged are mentioned. Examples of such networks are Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Z-wave, Sigfox, LoRA, Bluetooth, Weightless etc.

For the mentioned network solutions the network architecture and the related technology and protocols are described.

Entry requirement: Course “IOT Introduction” or similar Knowledge/experience.


Duration and class size

The recommended length of the course is 2 days depending on the participants’ background. The maximum number of participants is 16.
